Our Smart Camera technology joins imaging hardware with processing software to create a one-stop shop for real-time vision exploitation and analysis.

Sarnoff’s Smart Camera processing provides capabilities that meet demanding needs. Video stabilization and fusion capabilities turn shaky or unclear video into actionable information that is stable, accurate, and decipherable. Enhanced vision technology enables object detection and tracking [2] capabilities, as well as ”fingerprinting” [3] — giving users the ability to track a specific object’s past, present and future movements. Furthermore, localized camera processing drastically reduces the amount of data being transferred, thereby reducing network bandwidth.

The key objective of Smart Cameras is to move as much of the processing to the camera itself, where the image quality is best. Smart Camera processing can be integrated into a number of highly useful applications, particularly in the security [4] and surveillance [5] industries. From monitoring borders to supervising power plants, airports, or other facilities — intelligent vision processing offers advanced capabilities and increased efficiency.
