Mark A. Clifton became Sarnoff’s Interim President and Chief Executive Officer in October 2009. He is an accomplished leader with over 30 years of experience in engineering, business management, and business development and possesses deep knowledge of the commercial and government markets.
Mr. Clifton joined Sarnoff as Vice President, Products and Services in 2008. In this position, Mr. Clifton was responsible for overseeing Sarnoff’s new and existing products and services that evolve from our R&D Technology divisions.
Prior to joining Sarnoff, Mr. Clifton served as Vice President and General Manager of the C3 Systems business unit for DRS Technologies. In this capacity, he provided business development, advanced technology and program management competencies including border surveillance, command and control (C2) software, military communications, advanced displays, system integration and radar development.
Mr. Clifton also served as Senior Group Vice President of Anteon Corporation providing high-tech professional services and highly engineered products. He oversaw the performance of advanced R&D, engineering and systems development that included underwater acoustics, ship signatures, video codecs and ship design for major military, government and system primes. Additionally, he held management positions at Acoustics and Mechanics, Inc., and Bolt, Berenek and Newman (BBN).
Mr. Clifton holds a B.S. in Ocean Engineering from Florida Atlantic University and an M.S. in Engineering from the University of Connecticut. He is a member of the National Defense Industrial Association (NDIA), the Association of the United States Army (AUSA), and the Armed Forces Communications and Electronics Association (AFCEA).
