Describe a typical day for you at Sarnoff.
A typical day! There is no such thing as a typical day for me at Sarnoff. And maybe that’s why the job is so exciting! However, there are many tasks that I perform as part of my job. To list a few: discuss client issues, manage people issues, develop technology/business strategy, brainstorm new ideas, manage priorities, business development, etc.
What experience did you have prior to joining Sarnoff?
Before joining Sarnoff about ten years ago, I was working as a research associate at NJIT and before that I worked on my Ph.D. (in Physics) at IIT (Indian Institute of Technology), Delhi, India. Throughout my research career before joining Sarnoff, I developed substantial expertise in the area of semiconductor processing and devices.

Why did you choose Sarnoff?
I have always enjoyed solving complex problems using innovative approaches. Also, I always wanted to create new businesses by leveraging existing and new technologies. When I was searching for a job, I came across Sarnoff as an ideal place for me that would allow me to fulfill my career aspirations. And, here I am.
What is your proudest professional achievement?
At Sarnoff, I have been involved in many exciting and challenging projects. Here are some of my achievements that I consider worth mentioning:
- Developed innovative IC processing techniques that led to a low-cost, high-performance optical spectrometer that has revolutionized the field of spectroscopy.
- Developed a suite of technologies for achieving higher mega pixel image sensors, at lower cost for digital still cameras, cell phone cameras etc. Many imaging companies have licensed this technology.
