At Sarnoff, our goal is to develop advanced situational awareness and visual navigation systems for intelligent vehicles, soldiers and analysts. Our advanced vision technologies analyzes data from one or more sensing modalities (e.g., electro-optic, LADAR, RADAR) in real-time, and performs front-end and high-level processing to enable a variety of applications for soldier-worn, vehicle-borne and 3D mapping/modeling systems.
Sarnoff offers a number of capabilities that facilitate automotive safety and enhanced driver awareness. Our monocular/stereo vision and infrared processing technologies enable increased road/terrain awareness, and the detection, recognition and tracking of objects such as people and vehicles. Vision-aided navigation provides soldiers and vehicles with localization and mapping information, even in GPS-denied environments. Other capabilities include landmark recognition and 3D scene modeling — providing rapid collection of geo-spatial information to support mission critical applications.
Our automotive, robotics and 3D modeling capabilities lend themselves to several applications in both the government and commercial spaces. Advanced safety and convenience features such as pre-crash sensing, adaptive cruise control and lane-change alerts utilize stereo-vision technologies to recognize obstacles on the road and avoiding collisions. Moving target detection and vehicle fingerprinting capabilities provide increased security for military operations, while intelligent control logic enables the use of autonomous vehicles. Sarnoff can create 3D models and maps in real time, giving users a more accurate view of a surrounding area.
